ARTWORK CARE + MAINTENANCE

YARN PAINTINGS
Preserving and protecting your handmande yarn painting
-
Framing
You may decide to frame your yarn painting. Most framing studios offer options of standard UV and matte UV protective glass. Although matte glass will offer slightly higher protection from UV light degradation, it tends to also flatten the appearance of the colorful yarn.
-
Maintenance
The yarn maintains its color very well, even after many years of display and sunlight exposure; however, if your painting is not covered with glass, you can dust of the face of the yarn painting with a duster or damp paper towel.
-
Sunlight Exposure
To keep the yarn painting from melting, please keep out of the direct sun. Indirect sunlight is fine. Although the painting can handle higher levels of indoor heat, be aware of placing it close to a heater, fireplace or other heat source. Mounting atop fireplace mantle is generally okay.

BEADWORK
To care for your jewelry, beaded figures, and other beaded pieces, keep them dry and avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading and damage. To clean, use a soft dampt cloth or brush to remove dust. Store your pieces in a cool, dry place, away from chemicals, rough surfaces, and impacts.

WEAVING + EMBROIDERY
Hand-woven and emboirdered bags can handle a lot of use. Minimize exposure to moisture, direct sunlight, and rough surfaces to extend the life of each piece. Hand wash only if absolutely necessary, using a gentle detergent and cold water, and spot clean when possible. Hang dry. Store in a cool, dry place, away from excessive wear and tear.
