Handmade indigenous artwork from the Wixárika (Huichol Tribe)
This one-of-a-kind yarn painting is crafted by the visionary Wixárika artist and mara-akame (shaman), Eligio Carrillo. Eligio’s yarn paintings hold profound spiritual significance, serving as Nierikas, or sacred doorways to the divine—each piece is a passage into the spiritual world as envisioned by the shaman.
Artist's Description: The path where the shaman seeks the power of the sun to bless the temple of the village. Offerings of arrows and feathers are made for the light, with the magical power of the Kauyumari (deer spirit) whispering the songs of creation into the ear of the shaman. Within the sacred nierika (spiritual doorway) one can find the ancient ones that connect each of us to all of life.
