Handmade indigenous artwork from the Wixárika (Huichol Tribe)
This one-of-a-kind yarn painting is crafted by the visionary Wixárika artist and mara-akame (shaman), Eligio Carrillo. Eligio’s yarn paintings hold profound spiritual significance, serving as Nierikas, or sacred doorways to the divine—each piece is a passage into the spiritual world as envisioned by the shaman.
Artist's Description: This is the path of the ancient ones which we follow to reach the origins of creation itself. Following the footprints of our ancestors, the shaman follows the guidance of kauyumari (magical deer spirit) through the realms of reality in search kupuri (life force) to bring healing to the self, the community, and all of creation.
