Handmade indigenous artwork from the Wixárika (Huichol Tribe)
This one-of-a-kind yarn painting is crafted by the visionary Wixárika artist and mara-akame (shaman), Eligio Carrillo. Eligio’s yarn paintings hold profound spiritual significance, serving as Nierikas, or sacred doorways to the divine—each piece is a passage into the spiritual world as envisioned by the shaman.
Artist's Description: This is the place of the sacred water of life where offerings are left for the ancient ones (gods/godesses). Candles are lit to offer light and Kauyumari (the magical deer spirit) helps transmit the sacred power of this place with the help of Takuyasi (Father Sun).
